BIOGRAFIA

Dr. Charles Koh is a board-certified gynecologist with over 30 years’ experience in the advanced laparoscopic surgical excision of endometriosis and fertility microsurgery, having helped thousands of women.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Singapore, Dr. Koh completed residencies in obstetrics and gynecology in both Singapore and London, England. In England he became a Senior Registrar at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Hammersmith Hospital and held academic positions at the University of London Post-Graduate Medical School. He later relocated to Wisconsin, USA and took up position as Assistant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. By the 1980s he had set up a private gynecology practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was devloping a special interest in fertility microsurgery.
The emergence of laparoscopic gynecologic surgery in the 1980s set the stage for a pioneering movement of surgeons to develop and apply new laparoscopic techniques and surgical instrumentation to the field of gynecologic surgery. Through the development of innovative microsurgical instruments, Dr. Koh introduced the precision of microsurgery to laparoscopy to perform the world’s first laparoscopic microsurgical tubal anastomosis in 1992. To this day, the microsurgical instruments he developed remain the only set of instruments in use for this highly delicate surgical procedure and are now widely used in other surgical disciplines where a high degree of precision is required. Over his career, Dr. Koh has combined his specialization in infertility microsurgery with the advanced laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis, to provide relief of symptoms while preserving fertility. He is widely recognized as one of the leaders in his field in the surgical treatment of endometriosis.
In 2009, Dr. Koh was awarded the Distinguished Surgeon Award from the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, The American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and in 2012, he was honored by the Endometriosis Foundation of America for his surgical contributions.
Dr. Koh is board certified in both the US and the UK and holds surgical privileges at medical centers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA and Singapore. He has over 30 years’ experience in the advanced laparoscopic surgical excision of endometriosis and fertility microsurgery and has helped thousands of women during the course of his career.
Dr. Koh divides his time between treating patients in his private clinics and traveling internationally to lecture and demonstrate the microsurgical laparoscopic techniques he pioneered. He runs master classes throughout the year to assist in the education of the next generation of laparoscopic surgeons and is frequently invited to demonstrate his surgery overseas. Mexico, Brazil, the USA, the UK, India, Columbia, Italy, Spain, New Zealand, and The Philippines are just some of the locations where Dr. Koh has presented and demonstrated his work in recent years.
Dr. Koh currently sees patients at his private offices in Asia (Singapore), Europe (Italy), and North American (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA).
